Area-1 Detectives Investigating Infant Death in Chicago's South Shore
On 29 Sept 2021 at or around 9:20PM, units of the Chicago Police Dept 003rd District were summoned to 6803 S. Clyde for an unresponsive infant.
Per Chicago Police Spokesperson Kellie Bartoli, "The victim, a 4-month-old female, was discovered unresponsive. A family member attempted chest compressions until officers arrived and took over. The victim was transported to Comer Children's Hospital, where she was pronounced. Area One detectives are conducting a death investigation, pending autopsy results. On background - the family related the victim had been sick with an upper respiratory infection."
The Cook County Medical Examiner has confirmed this death and identified the baby as 4 month-old Queen Ebony Bailey. Autopsy is scheduled for today with Cook County Forensic Pathologist Dr. Reynolds.
